    Fuser unit compatibility

Does anyone know which fuser units in the 23XX, 30XX, 8025, and 8032 are interchangeable? I don't have one of each to test, but I have several of each in the field. I figured someone who has been around the Panasonics for a while may already have figured this puzzle out.

I thought they all were interchangeable, but I found out the hard way Friday.

They are all interchangeable. What you have to do is use the paper exit unit that fits the original machine . Paper exit unit of 2310-3010 series wont fit 2330 or 3030 . Those will fit 8025-8032 series.

Thanks onetek. When you say paper exit unit, what exactly are you talking about?

You can also modify those units to fit in all models (Well between the 10 and 30 series. Not sure about the 80s cause we only have one out there and I've never serviced it). Just need to cut away a small section of metal to allow the door to close and that's it. I've done it to all the ones we have and haven't had any issues.

And don't forget that the 80 series had an improved web advancing system. The old ones will work in them but they're less reliable / prone to failure.
Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you.
            O.o

The fusers themselves are interchangeable between all series. We have upgraded all web drives with kit# PJZSF274EAZ . After that, no more web trouble. But heat rollers still dont last, oem or densi.

Your right, the heat rollers don't seem to last. We use compatibles. I really think the issue is the toning, but I could be wrong. Seems to under tone or over tone a lot. You can fully PM the process unit and still have toning issues. We just became a dealer for Copystar, so hopefully my dealings with Panasonics are going away.

                    Cut there.jpg

Hopefully you can see by the pic that those two metal sections are different lengths. You would need to cut away about 1/4 inch from the area I outlined in red. I used metal cutting sheers to do it but you could use a Dremel or whatever you want to cut it away.

I don't know if there are any issues caused by doing this but I haven't run into any so far. Good Luck.
