Unfortunately I can't seem to buy the right manual for this machine. How do I remove the developer units on this machine. The drum units slide right out. Is there a cover to remove or something? It didn't look obvious. I need to remove the yellow one. There is no yellow toner in the DV unit. It looks black.

Re: DCP323 Developer removal
Remove inner stack tray (2 screws) Remove black cover in between toners and drums (6 screws). Remove toner supply pipe (1 Screw). Disconnect front door right arm. Remove waste toner lower cover (2 screws). Remove developer front bracket (3 screws). Use common sense and don't forget to run appropriate service mode depending on whether you are replacing developer only or the whole dev unit -

Re: DCP323 Developer removal
Thanks for all the help. I did get a manual from a member. It appears to be the toner drive motor. The developer came right back after it added toner. I swapped out the yellow toner motor with the magenta one. We'll see if magenta fades away. I'll know shortly. That's all I've changed so far. The copy quality came right back. There probably is a code to turn those motors. I'll search my manual and find it.Comment

Glad you got it. I prefer full color over auto. Thanks for posting the results.Comment

Re: DCP323 Developer removal
We have several machines with that low toner trouble. Replacing dev and dev units, as well as toner motors did not help. What gave us good results was to change the value of TDC Judj. level (6-555, 556 or 557 depending which color is light) toward 8 or 10. This way, the machine reacts faster when toner is missing, and so far it has worked ok for us .Attached FilesComment

Re: DCP323 Developer removal
Thanks for the great information. I seemingly can't really find the problem. I toned up the yellow DV and everything seems to be ok. However if it stays that way will be the real test. I will check these values you sent me and adjust the yellow TDC value. This machine has about 55K on it.Comment
