    DP 8060 Finisher

I have several DA-FS600 finishers. All seem to be exhibiting the same symptoms. When you power up the copier, the trays go down but never come back up. No code is shown.

I tried using parts from a Canon equivalent such as sensors. Still have same problem.

Being that I have had 3 finishers do the same thing over time, I thought someone may have already experienced this before.

Check the lower position switch on the rear, lower rail.

Failing to plan is planning to fail!!!

Are you talking about the micro switch (not the sensor)?

sometimes the tray skips the sensor and needs to be repositioned happened to me once and that took care of it.

Well, I finally found the culprit. After swapping sensors and switches as well as checking them in F4, I was about to say its the board. Then I thought to look one more time at the manual. Turns out, the adjustment on page 721 (Adjusting the Height Sensor PS1 did the trick. This sensor is the one that detects the height of the paper in the finisher tray so it knows when to lower it when running big jobs. Not sure how that relates to the operation when only running a few sheets, but apparently its tied in there somewhere.
