    Panasonic 3010 E4-02 code

I have checked all the sensors in I/O mode and no paper present.
    Am I missing something obvious?
It is looking like the spc pcb.
I just inherited this machine from another company that hated it.
Is it worth repairing the board or is it dumpster food?
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

E 4 02 is will stop your machine if you have to many jams in the fuser, same as E 4 01 this is a safty pecaution, there has been recalls on some other major brands for m/c cathching on fire, Panasonic protects you in 4 diffrent ways aganst this(this goes for panasonic fax machines to), Was the other company a panasonic dealer???? Its like taking yor BMW to GM .Clean the fuser paper deflector guide and reset the fuser code and check your thermal fuse( I have never had to repace a thermistor). check the other posts for all E4 codes and how to reset (as this must be reset after you check the fuser) I seen a machine (I wont say what brand) that had fax on it and recived faxes overnight ,wraping paper around the fuser roller pushing the thermistors back causing the fuser to get even hotter the paper had then caught fire and left a pile of ashes and was still glow ambers when I pulled the fuser.I then sold them a panasonic. hope this helps you and everybody else that reads this post on panasonic fusers.
ps check the fuser exit flag for toner buld up as the paper could snag on this.

I was able to reset the code but now have lots of fuser jams.
The paper seems to not be guided to the fuser rollers.
It looks like there are guides missing above the drum unit because there are a couple of spots that look like something is missing.
I looked in the parts manual but don't see anything listed.
I fabricated something just to test if it would help and it does, so something is missing.
Any idea what I am talking about?

There should be 3 very large fingers above the drum unit, but thes fingers are to prevent the paper from wraping around the drum. In your #2 corona assembly there should be 2 sets of wires the double set is seperation and pulls that paper down,if the paper jams right at the entrance of the fuser then i would pull out the fuser and check the lower fuser guide if there is a ridge of toner build up clean it off as this is were you get most of your jams.
