I'm looking at a DP-6030 for someone, even though it's not my brand. The paper, after exiting the fuser unit, gets diverted straight down instead of going into the finishing unit. Or perhaps this paper is supposed to go down and then feed back up into the finisher. I'm a little out of my depth on this because I don't know what's supposed to happen. Any help would be appreciated.

That makes sense. So the paper gets diverted down, and then what? The rollers reverse after the page hits a sensor?
Right now, the first page will go down, then a second page goes down, while the first one continues down past where the rollers are still gripping it... all the way down to the bottom of the machine. And the machine finally shows a jam, with the second page trailing edge reaching just past the fuser.Comment

What jam code are you getting? How many pages on the machine?
You may want to check the actuator in the inverting section. The inverting section is just below the side door. Two screws to remove the cover on top of it and then four screws to remove the unit. It helps to remove the door above it too but it can be removed without. When the actuator starts to round off from where it meets the paper it'll start to cause jams.
Another thing to check is the springs that keep pressure on the rollers in the inverting section. They can pop off sometimes and cause jams.
Good Luck!Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you.
O.o

Re: Panasonic DP-6030 - paper won't feed into finisher
If you use the ADF, it goes into the inverter. If you scan from the platen glass, it exits straight out.
Try scanning from platen, if it does not jam, you have an inverter problem. Check the actuator in the inverter as the face will form a groove over time, causing jams.

Re: Panasonic DP-6030 - paper won't feed into finisher
Thanks all. The inverter rollers were pretty slick, so I cleaned them. Also, the springs were VERY weak, so I hooked them a few loops down.
Now I'm having another problem with it... which I'll start a new thread.Comment
