can somebody tell me what to do. Have cleaned everything from developer unit to both waste toner thanks. Can make one copy and have SC 492 again.

It is a Ricoh Afficio Mp 2090. It's a old machine

From Goose's guide:

SC 492	replace toner suction motor
SC 492	BCU defective

Extract from the service manual on replacing the toner suction motor. Error could also be one of the 2 connectors going to the pump loose or the sensor bad.

If you have cleaned the tube going from the development unit to the pump, I would replace the tube. It has a Teflon coating on the inside and cleaning can damage the coating and cause clogs.

One thing you didnt do is replace that old machine, and even if you've done everything then why are you asking for help.

The error code has to do with not seeing a change in the sensor on the suction motor for 3 seconds. Either the motor is bad, the sensor is bad, the harness going to the sensor is bad or the BCU is bad. Unless you have replaced everything, you have done nothing. The suction motor should be replaced every 2.5M to 3M. The suction bottle should be replaced at the same time. If as you say you have cleaned the tube, then it must be replaced, unless you like toner hazing over the entire interior of the machine.

• Motor lock due to overload
• BCU defective
