[Misc] Aficio MP 161 Scan to desktop

Hello

I have an Aficio MP161 I am running Windows XP and Windows 7, I do not have any software can you please direct me to how I can set up scan to desktop with this machine?

First, the MP 161 and the MP 161F do not have scanning unless the Printer/Scanner option has been installed. The MP 161SFP comes with all options. If your machine has the scanner option installed, you can set up scan to folder. There are numerous threads on setting up scan to folder using SMB and FTP. Windows 7 will require NCS (NIB) firmware version 6.16 or later. If you need to scan to Windows 8 or later you will need custom firmware or will have to use FTP. There is also TWAIN scanning but that would require a software to scan with such as the full Adobe.
