    Ricoh MP C305 requesting paper

    Hi all

I have a MP C305 would stop half way through copying or printing to request for paper to be replenished in the main cassette even though paper is there!

I have cleaned rollers and blew out sensors.

I was wondering if a firmware update would solve this or if there is a bulletin?

    Many thanks

Remove the paper tray completely and check the lift mechanism at the rear end of the tray. There is a black bracket that screws onto the paper tray lift plate and it has a spring attached to it. These tend to crack or break and then the paper lift does not work like it should.
    Press the GREEN button!!

doubt firmware will fix this - sounds more like a tray sensor / feeding issue to me as Polabear already said.

Question: Roughly how many sheets does it feed before it stops and asks for more paper?

Something to try: - Fill the tray full and then run a job - does it still stop after a few pages and ask for paper?
Then, only put about 10 sheets in the tray and see what happens.

I bet its not lifting the tray high enough so its not feeding when not much in the tray
