    Can someone please tell me if this feature can be turned off on a MPc5502?

    NO!!! you can try to copy at a reproduction ratio other than 100% in B/W... Thank the US dept of the Treasury for that....................

          I tell my customers to reduce 10% to 25%. Most of them are copying checks prior to depositing them so they have a record. They like the fact that by reducing, they can get more on a sheet of paper.

            I guess it is a good thing they tried doing this now rather back in the day. Some machines would get bricked by even trying this back then.
            You can also blame the producers of philatelic content for this. I was into stamp collection years ago, and even then the official way to show a picture of a stamp was enlarged by at least 10% with a diagonal line through the picture.
