Lanier LD050B user codes with sc 870

Brand new machine and tried to set up user code.
Gave me a hard drive failure code then the 870.
Problem is- no hard drive installed.
The user code doesn't show up on the display or the printed list.
I can clear the address book in service mode.
I will be doing firmware Monday just wondering if anyone else has run into it??????

I think you can only blow away the key op code from service mode.

Also, accessing the web interface should allow you to clear the codes, if you're able to do that. I don't know if you are able to input an IP addy or anything, from what you've described.
