[Error Code] Ricoh Aficio MP 4001 Error SC 542

Greetings to all! I have a Ricoh Aficio MP 4001. With the SC542 error, do the tests thermistors and fusion lamp, both work correctly. Similarly change thermistors new ones and make the fault reset mode service. Check the power supply voltages and sends correctly. I'm thinking that might be the BICU card, but do not want to make the purchase of this pra replace unsure. I do not know what else to check where the bad exactly? I have not restarting or factory equipment nor a firmware upgrade.

You mention testing lamps and thermistors but not the thermostats. Check them unless you are confusing them with the thermistors. You also have to enter SP mode and run the proper code for resetting fusing unit errors. I like to turn the machine on with the door open, enter SP mode and monitor the fusing temperatures when I close the door.

It is possible that this confused! I send you a picture of what I think are the thermistor! The fuser unit is heating properly. Similarly could you please tell me how to check the temperature as through service mode.

That is the thermistor set. You still need to check the thermostats.

Where they are located these thermostats?

They are mounted on the fusing unit. The photo is just to provider a reference as to what they look like.

The readings are proper for initial power on with the door open. When the door is closed both center and end should start to rise. If neither rise, I would say the problem is on the power supply. If lone rises, I would say the thermostat, lamp or bad connection.

Locate thermostats! I was told that launched the ground, but still gives the SC542 error. Not how to test whether termostatatos are working properly.Commented tests:

-The Continuity of the lamp (OK)
              -The Continuity in thermistors (OK)
-Check The thermistors take measurements correctly (OK)
-Temperature With the door open (monitor):
              Roller Center: 27 deg
              Roller Ends 27 deg
Inside Machine at Power: 26 deg
              Machine Inside: 29 deg
              - Temperature with the door closed:
Roller Center: 60 deg (then descends)
Ends Roller 60 deg (then descends)
Inside Machine at Power: 26 deg
              Machine Inside: 29 deg

The technical service tells me to replace the BICU board, but I think that is not the cause of the error.

              Any opinions or advice?

Thanks a lot for the help!

Apparently the fusing temperature is not reaching the target temperature in 29 seconds. 29 seconds is probably when the temperatures start to fall back down. Things that could cause that are the thermistors not in proper contact with the hot roller, the lamps are the wrong wattage or voltage or the triacs in the power supply not turning on correctly.

Recently the company had problems with electricity. the power supply was damaged and was repaired, it worked properly for a month and then began to give the SC542 error, do what you said before and continue the error. From what I hear you mention the cause then is the source of power. The power sent it to verify the technical and tells me this OK. Thermistors are new!

put an ESP power filter and monitor the line if you think it is the cause of the problem. Also, try replacing a new Fusing unit.

Dear, I appreciate the help and advice of all! I just want your opinion taking into account their experience with this equipment. Not to make a hasty purchase BiCU card. So I discussed the problem is not in the BICU board, if not in the power supply or the fuser unit. The problem is that in my country do not get spare parts for this equipment. I write from Venezuela, excuse my English.

                        Thank you!
