How to edit a printer driver?

    How to edit a printer driver?

    Hello.

    I need to edit a printer driver. I am using the new printer driver editor but in this case I need to edit it manually.

    The reason is because I need to change the name of the templates on PCL6. (basic settings; color (1side); B&W (duplex)...)

    I know that I need to open and edit a "Rica... " file but I do not know witch is the file.

      open the ".rcf" file with word pad.

          On the download page for the drivers from the ricoh website you can download the print driver packaging tool.
          Allows you to edit not just the rtf file but create a installation package for multiple machines and multiple platforms. Not the easiest program to get your head around but once you do its very useful.

              It is also a lot larger that PDE and takes a lot longer to download. Print Driver Editor can still be downloaded from Softpedia. Or pm me with your email address and I can send it to you.

                  i agree. It may do more, but it's a hefty download and is not a program for the timid.

                  Thanks for the link for PDE. I know I have it...somwewhere...but I'd be hard pressed to find it.
