Have a customer with MP4002. It has fax option. They say occasionally they get junk faxes (60 pages). They can't cancel incoming fax. For the life of me, I can't find how to either. Any help appreciated.

Re: Ricoh incoming faxes
Set up FAX Forward to either folder or email and turn off printing. I think that the MP 4002 allows you can do it all from User Tools - Facsimile Features - Reception Settings - Reception File Settings. If it only has Fax Forwarding and no print or file type, you will have to use Initial Settings - Parameter Settings.
ITEM SWITCH BIT
To turn off printing 11 6 0=Off 1=On
To set file type 21 3 0=TIFF 1=PDF
They can then view each on a computer, forward good faxes to the correct person and delete the junk. Saves a lot of paper. You only print what you must have in hard copy. -
Re: Ricoh incoming faxes
Thank you for replying, but they do not want this. It's not about the paper. It's about junk faxes trying up their fax line.I've proved mathematics wrong. 1 + 1 doesn't always equal 2.........
Especially when it comes to sexComment

Re: Ricoh incoming faxes
Depends on the business they run, but i believe you can turn on the 'receive only from known fax numbers' if it's a huge issue? this will limit the faxes from known/programmed numbers only. Been awhile since i've dug into RTI/TTI, and forgotten most. Mostly dealing with digital line issues now!Comment

Re: Ricoh incoming faxes
I don't believe the machine has the ability to block numbers on its own. If the customer can get the sending machine's number, perhaps a call to the provider may help out in terms of unwanted harassment and they could block the number. Never tried anything like that before, but seems worth a try in this case. 60 page junk faxes. Wow.Comment
