how to get Vsp reading 0.5? ricoh mp3500

    Hi all.
I have a problem to set my Vsp to 0.5v. All I did was replacing the developer, replace the drum then run td sensor setting (sp2801), run id initialize (sp 3001).
Fyi, my current machine's readings are Vsg-4.23, Vsp-1.45. (very light image)

The toner indication always blink after a while even though the bottle is not empty. I need to manually pour some toner inside the dv unit to make the image brighter, but only last for few copies.

Anyone can guide me to get the Vsp reading to 0.5?

SP 2801 has nothing to do with Vsp. It sets Vref for the toner density sensor. Vsp is one of the readings for the ID sensor. You could have one of at least three problems:
    1. Dirty laser shield glass. This will directly cause light print and affect the ID sensor readings.
    2. You could have a dirty or defective ID sensor. It should be cleaned with a camera lens brush or a clean cotton cloth of white paper towel moistened with water only. If you have tried to clean it with a dry cloth or towel, it can cause static that will attract more dust and possibly damage the sensor. If you have cleaned it with any fluid other than water, you may have clouded the surface of the sensor and will have to replace it. Run SP 3001 only after properly cleaning or replacing the sensor,
    3. You may need to replace the drum.

it turn out to be my toner hopper's problem. The 4 pcs plastics at the hopper gone. I use transparent document plastic cover to replace them and the Vsp down to 0.33.

Came here to say the above. N.A Trading sells a 'mylar repair kit' - make sure you vacuum out the hopper & check the dev unit, those mylars went somewhere

When I notice them missing from the toner collar, I dump the toner out and in the toner tray out on an 8 1/2 X 17 sheet of paper and look for them. If I can find them in the toner or I find them about to come loose, a spot of hot glue work wonders to reattach them.

I've found that if you can find even three of them the hopper will work.
I like to attach the mylars with the screws left over from changing drum units on color machines. I've got sharpened jeweler's screwdrivers that make quick work of boring the correct sized holes through plastic. (Darn, I should have put that in the MacGyver thread.)
