    MP 3350 paper trays issue.

The paper trays will not engage paper lift motors unless I hold trays closed while applying pressure. I checked all sensors, switches, both springs and lift motors and everything appears to be functioning properly. There is no paper blocking the trays and both trays work when used on another machine.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hmm..

When you say the motor won't lift the tray, does it even try? (do you hear it coming on, but the tray doesn't lift unless you push in?).

The other thing to check is look at the tray size sensors (on a metal "ring" towards the middle left when looking in). This sometimes gets bent back and/or the sensors are loose, so the tray won't register as being "in". (Can confirm this by looking at the panel and watching when the machine registers the paper size).

If the tray is not properly latched, this problem will occur. Check that the paper tray latch is not worn or broken or the spring might be off. Check that the frame tab that the latch drops behind is not bent.

I've replaced trays because of this...worth checking
