    MPC7501

I have an MPC7501 with 1.5 million black and it is dumping developer and the copies are light on the operator side of the machine due to lack of developer. It is also throwing SC497 codes in the background. After I replaced the dev unit and developer it ran 4000 copies before starting to go light again and dump developer into the transfer unit. I have also tried to swap the VBCU, IPU, humidity sensor and transfer belt unit. Any ideas on what to try next?

There is a rather large list of bulletins on this toner belching beast. There are also numerous threads here on it and its slower sister the MPC6501. Also, after making all the adjustments in the bulletins, make those in the attached.

Have you checked the level of the machine, has it been moved?

I have fought this problem many times, and , and your problem actually lies in the toner supply side. The Toner pumps fail or become clogged by toner, also, the toner cartridges are often compacted so much, that the pump cannot replace the toner as it is consumed, and the machine eventually pulls developer, and you start getting diagonal Tiger Striped blank areas at the front of color affected.

            Hi,

Not entirely on topic but will MPC7501 toner work in the MPC7500 and vice versa?

            Thanks

            Tom

              NO

MP C7501 toner contains a small portion of developer, MP C7500 toner does not. For this reason, if you use toner to dust a new drum, use yellow MP C7500 toner only, MP C7501 toner could cause unneeded wear on the drum surface.

Actually this is incorrect, you do not want to use C7500 toner. It contains developer as well. You want to use 5560/3260c yellow toner as lubricant.
