Pro 8110s - Fiery error

    [Error Code] Pro 8110s - Fiery error

    Afternoon all,

    Trying to set up an EB-32 controller, but I'm getting the attached message.

    Anyone know what could be causing this?

    I've not seen that error before but I can see you're on version 1 Fiery software. If you've done a machine firmware update to a very recent version the Fiery will need updating to version 2.Listed below are the changeover levels.

        What OS version is on the fiery computer. I remember seeing something from either Ricoh or EFI saying not to update to Windows 10 directly on a Fiery Server currently running Windows 7 or Windows 8.1.

        EFI - Disable Windows 10

          Disk 1 and 4 are available from Ricoh site, disk 2 and 3 from EFI although they are rumoured to be the same as the E43A/83A. Alternatively order D7266613 and get the service disk kit.

            Ok thanks. These are different to the 4 discs I have to do a fresh install then?

              The message has nothing to do with the Windows versions in my opinion, but the communication between the fiery and the engine, i see the fiery version is 1.0, in that case the firmware version of the Pro 8110 is max 1.47.
              The recent firmware-versions of the Pro8110s (4.00 and up) are not compatible with the Fiery EB32 software, you'll have to upgrade the Fiery soft to version 2.0

              4 dvd package, plug and play, take's a while though.

                Thanks for all the advice.

                Ricoh tech is going to burn me discs 1 and 4 and post them out to me. Hopefully that should do it.

                  You need all 4 disks to do this!!! The error you are getting is because the engine firmware is probably version 2.xx and the Fiery system is version 1. You need to do a fresh install of Fiery os version 2 with all 4 disks. This will take you about 1.5 hours.......

                  After completing the set up you need to install all the version 2 patches in correct order as well...........

                    I already have 2 and 3. He said they're the windows 7 discs, and I can re-use them with the updated 1 and 4 discs he's sending me.

                    Does that not sound right then?

                      I would just go to the EFI site and download them to be sure nothing goes wrong, then you'll have a complete set of disks for system V2.

                        I can't see why EFI gave a link to download disk 2 and 3 if they are the same as the version 1 disks.

                        Just been out to the car to get my version 2 disks.Disk 2 and 3 are win764.1.1.1.15a part numbers 45122835 and 6 which is the same as the E43/83 and E43A/E83A. They are not the same as the E42/82 and E42B which is win764.1.1.1.11a/13a part numbers 45120171 and 2.I can't find my EB32 version 1 disks to check but I'm pretty certain they're not the right ones.

                        Short term it might be easier to downgrade the firmware, whilst you get the correct disks.
