Ricoh 1022 - language change

Hello guys. I was wondering if the language on ricoh 1022 can be changed. I tried from the language menu but it has only german language. I know the machine was bought from germany. Is there any way to switch it to english?

I don't have it. And i'm really not familiar with the procedure, but i'll check the service manual for that. Can someone upload the firmware, please?

You are going to need more than just the firmware. The 1022 does not use SD cards for updating, it uses a 4MB PCMCIA card. Check the parts catalog to see if they have the part number. You will also need software for writing to the PCMCIA card and a computer with a PCMCIA1 card slot. Demo version on the software can be downloaded from here: MCERICOH Home. Demo version can be used for 30 days of initial install on your computer. I just checked the link and if you click on any of the download links, it will give you the part number for the memory card, if they are still available. I believe they are rather pricey as is the full version of the software

Personally, I would say to replace the dinosaur.

you're really in trouble.Days ago the 4mb PCMCIA(A75.....) was available.Now it is difficult to arrange.I can upload firmware for you but you have to arrange PCMCIA CARD and MCERICOH software etc by yourself.
It is little bit tricky.

I thi9nk the biggest problem will be finding a device to write to PCMCIA1 devices. Unless you have an old laptop with an operational PCMCIA1 card slot, you looking at between $400 and $500 US for a USB adapter. The inexpensive USB multi memory devices do not include PCMCIA1. If anything, they have the narrower PCMCIA2 slot.

There are PCMCIA SD card adapters, but if you go that route it is very important that you make sure it works first. I've got an adapter because it was required to update firmware on Riso duplicators, but the voltage that adapter requires is outside the range that a Ricoh can provide.
Sort of like "it's all just black powder" (d'oh...), in my case the adapter looked the same as a normal PCMCIA card, but it wasn't.

Forget about language change. That machine is old as carbon and fern taken together. It is necessary to have special sevice PCMCIA card, special Ricoh utility and compatible card reader.

It could be worse. He could have an Aficio 220 instead of the 1022. An even older dinosaur.
