I cannot reset this code using Smart Organizing Monitor. There is no service mode neither password to enter to see another level.
Printer configuration>User Tools then System/Fax options can be selected and Firmware Update...nothing else.

Update the firmware. Version W1.05:01 Specification change:
    1. SC542 which triggered by poor power source can be cleared by
    switch power OFF/ON.

      Re: SP-204SF ERROR SC-542

Well, i have already updated the firmware , thinking that it will bypass the problem.
It seems that it needs reset first of all then it will recover by switching on/off every time this code appears.
The SC pops out even if i switch on with door open, toner removed etc... so it is a reset problem, not a blown fuser..
      Thanks for your reply....

If there is a problem with the fusing unit, the error will keep coming back until the problem is corrected.

          Happy news today!!
Case is closed, this little MFP works fine now.
Reset procedure is hidden by Ricoh and it is given from an authorised, directly, specialist.
Just like the latest service entry procedure.
I cannot explain the procedure with words,...unbeliavable!!!

Depending on the type of Ricoh Printer (I know this works for SP200 series printers) you have and the version of Smart Organizing Monitor (SOM) there is another way to access the service mode and reset SC codes, especially SC542. Follow the next steps
              1) Printer should be On and attached to your PC with USB
              2) Next Start Smart Organizing Monitor (SOM)
              3) In the bottom Left will be an "About" button, click on this button and a new screen will appear. The screen will roughly look like the sun on a horizon.
              4) Hold CTRL+SHFT and right CLICK TWICE in the Center of the Image (whitest spot). This will bring up the Service Mode
              5) In the Bottom Center of the new screen you should see a button labeled SC Fuser Reset. Click this button.
              6) Turn off printer and Turn back On.

This should clear the error code. As you should know if you do not resolve the underlying issue the problem will continue to occur and cause the code to reappear. Like any error simply resetting and ignoring may lead to permanent damage of your printers.

Yes, the triac that drives the fusing lamps or its control circuit. So can the cable from the PSU to the fusing unit. The fact still is that until the problem is corrected, the SC will not go away.
