    SP C242 SF Fuser noises

    I have just recently got a whole bunch of 242's and almost everyone of them makes a knocking noise, or more like a thumping when the fuser is running. I know that this noise is coming from the fuser but my question is "Are they all like this, is this the way they were made, is it a defect? Or did i just get over 20 SP C242's that have bad fusers?"

      232's and 242's eat fusers for fun. The knocking you are hearing is probably a flat spot on the rollers where they have been sat stationary for a while. It will eventually disappear as the machines are used and the rollers become less egg shaped.

          Normal for this model, they all knock a little (some worst than others).

          I'm not a fan but I can't say much more as the sales guys get the hump.

                  Sorry to jack this thread... I am working on a SP C232 and the upper fuser roll (hot roll) delaminated. Anyone know of where I can purchase the part or the whole fuser reasonable. PR pricing is outrageous. This is my personal printer not one of my customers. Thanks Jeff D. STL
