    MPC4000

    Hi,

    Got this MPC4000 with a start up problem . . .
Costumer said that the power lamp was going on/off a few times,
after that no display, green power lamp and red indication. . .

Checked and swapped the BICU, no results.
    checked the fuses, seems allright.
checked the laser, swapped the polygoon motor.
    again no results . .

    Proberly the PSU ?

    anyone, thanks in advance

Any prior work done on this machine in last 1 to 3 months? Something removed and maybe now there is a pinched wire shorting to the frame. Remove any accessories (feeder, finisher) to see if it powers up correctly. Disconnect Paper Feed Assy harnesses, etc. Does it power up with the covers open? Any SC codes? I would try a Controller PCB before the PSU but I would try some other diagnostics before throwing more wood on the fire.

Check the web image monitor to see if any service codes exist that's one thing you could check. Anytime I have no display that's the first place I check.

I had a few cases where the machine powers up, but nothing is displayed on screen. when you look closely you van see a SC202 on the screen, but no backlighting.
in this case replace the BICU and polygon motor.

Also had one where the backlight board in the opperation panel was fried.
