Ricoh Pro C 901 drum problem

Hi,

I have problem with drums on this machine. These drums cant last 100K and they get teared. Also cleaner is full of toner (pictures).
Waste toner system is working ok.
Any ideas?

First I'd check the cleaning unit is locating correctly, and also check that the drum locking scew is locking fully. But normally a build up of toner on the Dev rollers is what causes scratches like that, due to clumpy toner. Sometimes you can clean this off, but normally it's a new Dev Unit. Is this machine doing low volume? If it is, you might want to enable ACS which reduces the idling of the dev units during BW printing. Off the top of my head I think it's SP2-907-001, you want to set it to 10 if it's not already.
Also, if the machine is doing low volume, you might want to vacuum the Sub Hopper out fully (you'll need to execute filling after, sorry, forgotten what the SP for that is), replace the Dev, and stick a new toner bottle in.
Another thing to check is the charge ducts; there's a mylar that sits on the drum, if it's warped more at the rear, it will wear through the drum layers quicker on that end, giving inconsistent charging in that area, resulting in poor toner transfer (toner everywhere).
And lastly, try putting a paper clip inline with the pressure spring of the Lubrication bar in the cleaning unit.

Forgot to mention, also check the top cover with the three scew, if the mylar there is deformed, it will wear on the drum, and clean the Doc blade gap while your there.

Thanks for your inputs.

This machine has done 250K in three months (total 5 MIL) and my customer changed two sets of drums and all cleaners. Also he changed magenta developer material.

Could you explain what do I set with these two "adjuster" on the picture? I cant find it in manual.

I've never touched them, never found the need, and suspect they either do nothing, or are factory set for a reason.

Is it just the Magenta drum that scratches? Has it happened more than once?

All drums have same problem, M i C even more. 100K is the maximum they do.
