    I use either a 128/256/512Mb SD card.

The second slot down is the service slot.

Newer machines can use larger sizes, 128Mb is a little too small for everything on some models, but 256Mb, 512Mb and 1GB work on almost everything. My choice is 512Mb. Why carry different size cards for different models when one size, 512Mb, fits all.

Just remember the directory structure has to be sdk / update / sdk or the machine won't update itself.
