    MP c305spf tray lift issue.

I am posting this for another tech in my shop. He has gutted this thing for another issue and now cannot get tray lift. He has verified the motor is turning. You can hear it move then makes a pop noise and after a few tries, it code sc501. The tech thinks maybe the lever on the tray that tells the machine it has lifted, is hitting the photo interrupter. I have not looked at it, and was ask to assist by posting this. The original issue was not related to the tray or feed. The tech is being helped by a manager. They will remove the motor tomorrow and look at everything. Anyway, any tips would be appreciated.

The cheesy lift plate in the cassette itself breaks. There is a bulletin with several new parts to strengthen it

Thanks thats a good tip. To me the obious thing would be to replace the photocell. Not my call. The manager is micro managing the tech, and I was ask to post this.

The problem was the tray lift actuator. The lever on the rear of the tray for tray set was being nailed by the lever on the rear of the tray that is supposed to slide into it. It was almost broke in two.
