c4000 Going through black toner pumps.

I think I have a weird problem on a couple of machines.

These were probably in storage for few months so I wondering if there is some errant values in the nvram causing the machine to run the toner completely dry, then killing the pump.

I've been putting in used pumps from other working machines and I know there is a newer version on the pump available, but I was wondering if this is a thing with machines that have been off for a while(?)

I've read elsewhere that an NVRAM clear fixes this problem. At first I thought that was nuts, but know IDK...

TLDR: Black toner runs out - pump dies - replace pump ; rinse:repeat

NvRam clear does not solve anything, only provide numerous problems.

just change pump and vaccum/change the hoses.

    alway use Ricoh original toner.
Please start you post with brand, model, problem.

Are you replacing just the pump and not the tube from the toner hopper to the pump? They should be replaced together. Newest part number comes as an assembly.

The new toner pumps work a lot better if you can afford them.
Have you ever taken one of the failed toner pumps apart and seen the guts of the thing? I found that quite educational.

Sounds more like the toner is getting damp/or setting if stored incorrectly either outside or inside machine.
As already mentioned the pipes must at least be vacd out or swapped for new ones or the brand new pump will clog again.
