Lately the machine displays the SC500 error when you turn it on.
The sm says it is a motor related issue so i removed the back cover. I noticed that the motor doesn't spin when the machine is turned on like it is supposed to do.
Here's what i have done so far:
* Checked the PCU moving parts for any stuck rollers or gears. All were spinning without difficulty, no stuck or worn out gears either. I lubed gear and roller shafts just the same. The PCU is relatively new, about 3 months old.
* Cleaned and lubed shafts of the registration rollers.
* Removed the gearbox and cleaned gears and lubed gear shafts.
* Cleaned the upper fusing unit, removed caked toner and lubed shafts.
Still the problem persists.
There are very few instances when the motor does spin up when you turn the machine on but the error reappears if you try to make a copy.
There's one thing I observed though, when the motor spins, it makes a rough grinding noise.
