    CW2200 Streaks

Hi, All. I have a wide format cw2200 with big horizontal void areas. This is what I know. It happens on copies and prints. I copied the good image in color, and the entire image showed up, no streaks, so it only occurs when printing/copying black. Im using a PS print driver with the same settings as usual, as well as copy settings. I printed a color test page, it was good. The nozzle check pattern was good. Anyone seen this issue?
I just looked at the check pattern again. The image for Black print head 2 is completely missing.

You need to go into User Tools and execute "Clean Print Heads" for the Black 2 only. You may need to repeat this 3 times (after 3 attempts try "Flushing" the Black 2 Print Head). Ricoh recommends only Flushing Print Heads after 3 attempts to Clean Print Heads fails).

Thanks for the replies. I have already cleaned the print head 3 times with the same results. Absolutely no image at all. I guess a flush and maybe the advanced print head maintenance is in order. Between this crap and the paper loading issues, and the piss poor junk they call a paper catch tray, I am not a huge fan of this piece of equipment.

looks like the print head is not printing in 2 directions at high speed. You can test this by adjusting the papersettings, set coated or set paperweight to for example to 120gr or so, the printhead will print in 1 direction only.

If thats the case, check the encoder strip for cracks or dirt...

            good luck

I finally got 'er going. It took six head cleanings and 1 flush. I have to learn to be patient with this machine. At the same time I was flushing the head, the machine coded twice with sc2xx (K Head 2 clogged). I just rolled my eyes and mentally said to myself "no sh&t, that's why I'm flushing the head". Stupid machine.

I've done the training course on this machine, Official word from Ricoh is if your gonna flush the heads, take a spare ink with you because it's a thirsty process.
