Aficio 3245c with error sc685

Recently had brushless color motor error code. Motor wasn't turning. Changed 10 minutes ago and motor turning but new code sc685. Trying to see what i can find on internet but no luck so far other then reference to hard drive. Any help is very much appreciated. In customer's office now. Frank/ActionPhotocopy

SBU-IPU communication error


1. Turn the main switch off and on.
2. Shut out the external noise.
3. Check the cable connection of the scanner unit.
4. Replace the SBU board.
5. Replace the IPU board.

took care of scanner connection and machine went into ready. Now has dark shaded background on entire sheet. Machine can print normally from computer or I can print counter sheet from control panel user tools. Frank

You might want to download the Goose's Guide and use it as a trouble shooting reference.
