I don't think so. I think you would still need to purchase the wireless option to make this possible. My understanding of the wireless part of the SOP is to control it similar to a remote app for your smart TV.

I have been told by Ricoh that you can use the WiFi from smart operation panel to connect ad hoc to send print jobs to the machine using the smart connect app

I believe the Smart Device Connector App is for smart phones and possibly for tablets. It requires that the device be very close to the SOP, preferably in direct contact the wifi from the SOP is extremely low power and range.

You can also purchase the cheapest wireless router you can find, connect it directly to the copier, and connect through that. If you already have a wireless network, then the router can be set to connect to the same signal as your existing equipement (also turn off its own DHCP and gateway first), allowing you to use it as a wireless access point.

The Ricoh wireless adaptors aren't worth it, most of the time.

For the price of Ricoh's wireless adapter, you can buy a number of Netgear WNCE301 or similar device. I have used them and the only problem I have had is a customer who likes to change his wireless router so that it has to be reconfigured.

We use the netgear ones as well they seem to work pretty well for the most part. It would be nice if they would adapt to the usb dongle or just build in the wifi. We have been in a world of wireless networks for quiet a while now, you would think this would be just a standard by now.
