Hello all, I have customer with 1022 that was complaining while sending a fax the last page would run through the ardf then the machine would show a jam in the feeder. No real jam and the fax went through fine. I ran the feeder in simulation mode seemed fine and I could not duplicate the problem. Cleaned all rollers, sensors and checked all levers in the feeder and left. They called back same problem. This time I saw it happen. Once! I disconnected all connectors in the feeder wire harness and reseated them at the machine and the ARDF. They called back with in days same problem. Mother F%#ker. Of course this customer has to be at the very limit of my territory. Ok I'm sick of this crap. I took a whole new feeder, harness and all from another machine I keep for parts. They called back with in days same problem. Co#k Suc*&% Mother F%#ker. Determined not to leave without some sort of resolution I made them stand in front of the machine and make it happen. I saw it happen and realized some of them were using immediate transmission mode and some using memory transmission mode (Go figure). The people using memory transmission mode never had a problem. I instructed all to use memory transmission mode and the problem went away. This was probably 4 months ago. Just thought while I'm slow I would check and see if anyone else has seen it or fixed it in case it rears its ugly head again. Thanks.....Ant

I still have a hand full of these in my territory and have not seen the exact issue you are describing. I appreciate you posting this, though, because I will remember your work-around if I ever run across it. Normally the only DF problem I have related to false jams are the recessed sensors getting crap in them. -
Curios 1022 ARDF
Thanks for the response's. Although I pretty sure I cleaned the slider contacts and everything else inside the original tray on the second radf, I,ll check that again if it crops up again. Thanks....AntComment

My favorite is when the end users put a stack on the doc feeder and half of another on the right edge of the original tray.....then call in a service call becuase the machine only sees 11x17 paper from the doc feeder.....VectorLinux---Check it out!Comment

I wouldve said the sensors also but you did mention that you took another feeder from another machine with same results so you have ruled out that Idea.
print out a smc report and see if tells you where it's jamming.Comment
