C651EX Banding / Updated Development Units

We are considering purchasing a used Ricoh Pro C651EX from a third-party seller (an equipment broker, not a Ricoh dealer). I know from research that initially these units had problems with banding that were related to the design of the development units.

I have some sample prints from the unit I am looking at, and while the overall print quality is pretty good, there is some banding evident in halftones. Solids appear to be fine.

The unit has under 400,000 clicks, but the PCU charge rollers and the PTR Transfer Roller, Cleaning Blade & Separation Corona have exceeded their 300,000 PM replacement interval.

Is there an easy way to verify that the the development units are the most current, updated design instead of the original design?

From what I can tell the original part number for the development unit was D074-2301, while the part number for the current development unit is D074-2305. Is that correct?

If we purchase the unit we will have our Ricoh dealer do an initial inspection & service to get the unit back on a service contract, but I suspect replacing all 4 development units could be a significant upfront expense.

    Thanks!
