    SP-3001/Black Patch

With the drum exposed when executing SP-3001, should the black patch that the ID sensor reads be visible? If so and it doesn't result in an SC-350, could the LD unit be the problem source? I have four copiers: two Ricoh Aficio 1035's, and two Ricoh Aficio 2035's. I have replaced everything that can be replaced to correct this problem but they don't. Not sure what I might be overlooking. Thank you for any help given.

You have to time the opening of the transfer unit in order to see the patch. Too soon and it hasn't been developed yet. Too late and it has already gotten to the cleaning station.
