    A400 Printing

    Hi there,

Customer got a Ricoh Direct machine MP 5054 and they can't print from AS400. Other applications like word etc work fine. Does the machine need the Postscript SD card or is there such a thing as a IPDS sd card?

    Thanks

    IPDS Type M12 SD card.

I don't think PostScript is required to get the IPDS card to work, but it's worth checking into.

The customer could conceivably use HPT (Host Print Transform) to convert to ASCII, which the printer would understand. It's worth asking them if they are using it. If they are not, it's highly doubtful they would want to switch to it.

Most customers who have AS400s realize there is a price to pay for it, in this case the IPDS card.
