    Scan to Folder - FTP

Does anyone have detailed instructions for setting up a Mac with Yosemite and/or El Capitan for scanning to a folder using the FTP Protocol?

I know how to set it up on the copier, but do not know how to create a home FTP folder or any FTP Users and password on the Mac. I use FileZilla Server on PC's so I understand the concept, but not Macintosh savvy at all.

    Help is much appreciated. Thanks.

FileZilla server is not available for Mac. Unfortunately only Mac servers or macs with the server app, will be able to share via ftp. Get the user to download the server app from the App Store, or look for a free alternative online. If they go the server app route, you can set up ftp shares from within the server app

What about the normal (non server) version of Mac OS X 10.11 ?

That's available but is only an FTP client.

I've attached a walkthrough for FTP scan on Mac. The title is 10.7-10.8, but the process works for other Mac OS X versions as well. It's written for Canon devices, but you can translate it to other makes/models.

                Good Luck!

I use a canon tool that creates a new user called "canon"and enables the ftp.client....it works great for me.
