[Misc] CAC reader for MP4000

I have a DoD customer with several MP4000 copiers. They would like to install CAC readers on them. Can this be done?
Their IT dept says no, but I want to double check.

I just checked the Ricoh website and it appears that the MP4000 is not a supported model.
I wonder if there is a 3rd party solution.

On TSRC click on Solutions, under Security click on Common Access Card 3 (CAC). This gives you a table that displays the VM Card Type, VM platform, Custom Firmware and and click on links to download the firmware, both SD and Remote, needed for each model supported. There are 3 listings for the MP 4000, depending on whether mono or color scanning and the system firmware version and VM platform level. There are also tables for downloading the appropriate APP depending on JAVA platform and CAC version (Versions prior to 3 do not support PIV) and documentation.

Thanks. Unfortunately I cannot access the TSRC site. Do you know of an alternate source? I can purchase it if needed.

If you don't have tsrc access you will need to contact a dealer in your area. It will save you all kinds of footwork anyway.
