    MPC3001/MPC3501 VS MPC2800/3300 Series?

    hi
i sell lease returns and cant find any mpc2800 or mpc3300 copiers wth a low meter but have some
mpc3001 and mpc3501 coiers offered in the less than 150k meters.
is the mpc3001 a newer model and is anything from the mpc2800 series interchangeable, drums etc?
for 10k/month placements are they reliable?
    thnx in advance

The MPC35-5501 are nuclear weapon proof. Best colour box Ricoh ever released. Unfortunately not many parts are compatible. Fusers are different, some of the toners are the same, can't remember which ones though. That PCU compatability list on here somewhere will tell you if the drums fit that model.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

The MPC2800/3300 was sort of a naughty corner model as it was similar but not directly compatible to for instance the MPC2000/2500/3000 series.

It had a lot of parts that fitted on nothing else, which made field maintenance a pain. It would also seem that it had a much shorter model run than other colour boxes in the Ricoh range.

+1 on the 3001 series - machines with little drama.

3001 is a newer model compared to the 2800-3300 series.

10K a month should be no issue for a machine like that.

Polar and Toner covered the parts situation and reliability.

I visited MPC 3001 today,it did 200k pages in one month...users are nuts!
This machine is actualy working fine,no hickups...aside from the fact that every part exceeded PM interval.
Whats interesting is there's MPC 3300 next to it that simply can't match it.I think they doubled PM life for MPC 3001 PCU.
I compared color drum units and only difference I can see is one cylinder piece of plastic in the back...but connector in the back may have pins order changed like MPC 2500 and MPC 2800.
PCU and Fuser units on MPC3001 look similar to MPC3002 in my opinion but it remains to be compared closely.
I'm thinking about trying to fit 3300 type drum unit in 3001 soon to test it cause this other machine's magenta drum have some weird toner smudges hardened on the surface, and that's after 60k pages working with Ricoh toner.I'll come back with some more info on that.
Gears, springs, clutches, sliders, connectors and electronics...who on earth can tell what's wrong with it?

We use D029-2256 for MPC3300, 01's (except BK), & 02's (except BK). Cut the corner, swap the connection wires, and remove the pin inside the machine (for the 01). Whilst you are there, it is best to remove all pins for future drum replacements.
