Bought one of these for a client wich has another two of them in another location. He had bought them 7 years ago and at that time the only finisher availabe was the SR841. Long story short the SR842 does not lift up the shift tray. No error codes, nothing. When I start printing it blocks itself telling me the lift tray is full of paper. Sensors do work ok and the machine thinks it is attaching a SR841 if I print the configuration page even I've attached the SR842.
Oldest machines also does not accept the SR842 finisher and the new machine accept the old SR841 finisher. The problem is the Ricoh told us that the only finisher available for that machine is the SR842 as the SR841 is out of production.
They are sending me a new controller for the SR842 and a new eeprom but I don't think that the problem lies there. If think that somewhere in the Ricoh site there is a custom engine firmware for the SP9100DN that makes the machine accepts the SR842 but the gyus at Ricoh told me there isn't any.
Do you have any experience about this?
Thanks in advance
