ricoh mpc 5501 fax board not detected...

ricoh mpc 5501 fax board installed... but not recognized...
installed firmware... rebooted... same result...
trying to get firmware just for fax board...
in the meantime checking if there is anything that I have not done...
doublechecked connections...
reseated board...
problem unchanged...

check the jumper on the fcu pcb to see if its in the on position

to verify little baby board that sits on fax board... has an off on three pin deal
it has two positions off and on... its a three pin deal... its in the on position...
no expanded memory on fax board...

yep that's it. I just reviewed the install instructions, nothing odd about them. if you go to user tools does the fax sp show?

1. Are you certain that you have the correct fax board?
2. Is the small board fully seated on the main board?
