    Dsm 725 drum dots

    Hello!
I replaced drum/blade unit because of dots on drum surface.
After two days the same dots appeared again on the new one.
    Any ideas!

PCU's had it. Replace it with a type 1027.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

By drum/blade unit do you mean the drum and blade or just the drum cleaning blade? Spots are a symptom of a drum that has over 90K on it. If you are using after market drums that number goes down.

Depends on the dots, weather they are in a ring around the drum or just in several spots on the print out. When was the last time it was PMd, if its due for a drum and blade its due for a charge roller and cleaning roller and probably developer as well.

You can use the 1027 PCU, its still cheaper to rebuild the pcu with drum/blade/charge and cleaning roller and a packet of developer in a part to part cost, the 1027 saves you some time, personally though if you are unable to diagnose things you really should be rebuilding them and learning how they work together and what caused the damage in my opinion. yes just popping in replacements is easy but did you really learn what was wrong and why.

Totally agree. There is a time when the PCU's need to be canned though, they were never designed to be rebuilt like the B205 ones were.

The Gestetner DSm 725 is the B205.

Indeed it is. We ran 1027 PCU's in the 3025/3030 but the rebuildable B205 in the MP2510. Go figure.

We did pretty much rebuild all our pcu's only used the 1027 in the gest 618 or 622 one of those, and on the rare instance if you didn't have the parts for a rebuild you could throw one in to get the customer running that day. But we also had the time to do it a rebuild of a fuser and PCU in a 725 is about an hour call to clean, rebuild, run SPs and test run it.
