    MP C5503 Fax issue

    I have a Ricoh MP C5503 that just installed last year. It is having intermittent fax receiving issues. Sending is fine. Certain accounts are attempting to send faxes and they get a busy signal message on their fax report. The 5503 picks up and the receiving data light on the C5503 lights up for a few seconds and then goes out. They had a Sharp MX3501 before this with no issues.
    Some of the things we have tried are Turning off error correction mode, and buy passing the surge protector. I am not sure if my guy has turned it back to 9600 yet or not or if this is even possible on this machine.
    Any suggestions (Other than to tell the customer to only use email) would be appreciated.

    If the sending machine is reporting a "Busy signal", then the problem is most likely not the MP C5503. It is either the phone line or the sending. Has your customer recently changed their dial tone supplier or have they changed to VOIP? With some VOIP providers you have to specify if one of your numbers is a fax machine.
