I have a Ricoh MP171 that has a 2mm black border line as if top to bottom ( landscape top) registration is off by 2mm. Is there an adjustment for this? I have worked on this product and its ancestors since the Ricoh 1515 and I never saw this before. Any Ideas would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Re: Ricoh MP 171 has a black border
I've seen what you describe as a black border as a drum with the coating wore off on the rear side. I'm sure you check that. Run a sky shot and see if there is any erase on the border side, because I had to change the erase lamp on one with a cleaning problem that had a dark streak down the page. Mongo -
experience you say you do, it should've been pretty easy to identify it, if that was the case, so please tell us if you've ruled out PCU? Fuser?
Does it happen on both print and copy?
And, Yes, of course there's a registration adjustment for this, and every other mahcine in SP modeComment

I'm betting it the PCU as well. I just had a MP 201 with exact same symptoms------PCU Shot"Heavy music to the normal ear is nothing but a loud annoyance.
