ricoh mp 5054 sc 997 and java

    Hi all.

I recently visited a machine that occasionally throws sc 997.

I decided to update java as the normal firmware has been updated.

On updating java I got pice mark error on the sd card. This tells me the wrong update tool has been used. Although the update tool was from ricoh site with the correct name of mc.

Has anyone successfully updated java on these.

The problem I have now is that the third party app is not running.

    Any ideas welcomed.

You may have had a bad download or a corrupt SD card. Download again and start with a new SD card. Either that or use the RXOP version.

It is recommended to deactivate and uninstall all SDK applications prior to updating the Java platform via RXOP or SD Card. Did you deactivate and uninstall the third party App?

Thanks for the reply. I have put in a support request with ricoh. Also I have just obtained another sd card to try. ( I did try a 32gb card also but that did not do anything at all)

The manual says just to change the function priority to copier rather than the 3rd party app and then to put it back again after update.

The problem is after it said failed I rebooted mc and tried to put function priority back to the app and it was not listed!!

You will have to reinstall the APP.
