    Ricoh 1035

    I've service 2 of these copiers that I have out on rental; routine ck-up's.After servicing I noticed 2 light strip from lead edge to trail edge LEF one near the middle the other at the edge closest to back side of copier; I ck'd the developing unit on both copiers for bare spots none found; no dust found on the optics or slit glass; one of the copiers I cleaned the charge roller the other copier I cleaned the LD optics; none resolved the issue; both copiers have the bare spots in the same locations;
    any help would be greatly appreciated; I'm not sure if I posted a sample as to how well it could be seen.

    If the problem is on both copies and prints, remove the PCU and development units. Clean out any spewed toner in that area. Remove the laser shield glass and wipe toner and dust off. Reinstall everything. The term prints also applies to reports and test patterns.

    If it only copies, clean all mirrors and the lens. Check the white plate on the underside of the platen glass for discoloration.

        Check to make sure the lower cleaning unit cover hasn't broken and hanging down blocking the laser. Seen that many times , can hang down on one side or all the way across causing blank areas.

            Buried the last of those turds years ago. The only good thing you could say about them was they were better then the 340 / 450........ but only slightly.

            Leaning on the front of the scanner would cause light lines from lead edge to trail edge as the scanner box twisted and the mirrors went out of alignment.
            The only fix....... wait until the customer was looking the other way and grab the font of the scan unit and lift...... with a bit of practice you learnt how much grunt you had to put in to get the image back.

              I've seen that enough times I still carry the thing as car stock.

                I still have a small hospital with one maybe two still in use. They are replacing them as fast as they can get funding for new (or newer used) equipment. We currently have 3 trade-in MP 2852s and 1 MP 2352 we are trying to sell them.
