      If this occurs during copying on the platen glass, you have some rather large dust particles on one or more of the mirrors. Can occur on any model.

          does it also occure when making color prints, or with only one color (so, no black)?
          No => Black pcu.
          Yes => transfer or fusing belt (interrupt the copy process and look at ptint out) or ???.

            Hi there!
            Take a close look at the pcdu-grounding. It may bent or dirty.
            Greetings...

              This is happening when printing as well, optics are clean.

                Yes it still happens on colour but the line is always black
                I've ordered a black pcu was just checking if it could be anything else as I've never seen it before and the pcu looks in good condition and not even done half its life.
                Thanks for the reply 👍

                    This exact issue has happened with a 5503. It occurs randomly and typically when printing 500 pages per more at a time. It can be difficult to reproduce, and the banding does not line up to any particular pattern, nor does the banding line up in terms of distance apart page to page.

                    Of all things, we found the fuser was sitting a little loose and removing and replacing seemed to have corrected the problem.... for now.

                    I'll be interested if there is a different resolution.

                      I've got this issue with another mettis but the black pcu is knackered - it's peeled the layer off the end of the drum giving that pattern. I should be back today to fit the part so I'll send a picture in.

                        I have found marks like this on PCDU unit that get heavily used and develop deposits across their upper surface. The residual charge on the ITB picks them up and marks on your outputs, with the same spacing as the plastic ribs on the upper surface of the PCDU. Get the toner vac out.
