May also be an IP conflict.( another device or computer has "grabbed" the same IP as the Ricoh ) Unplug the Ricoh cat 5 connection and ping the IP address. If you get a response, there is a conflict.
If so, change the Ricoh IP ( suggest doing a ping test to confirm the new IP is open)
True, but it can also be that one is connecting with a mobile host (salesman or so) once every 2 day's?
Did you get the ip address by dhcp?
