    Regional codes

Fusing unit numbers are often mentioned in parts manual with a regional code (-17, -19, -21 etc). I wonder where can I find explanation of these code. Any help is appreciated.

You can find it in the chapter "Installation" in the service manual on old machine.

All I found in old manual is something like this, no details provided there.

This Ricoh video nugget may help, though it doesn't give an association of which number is associated with which region (US is 17).Basically, check the serial plate.

Another Ricoh mystery explained! Thanks Zed I've been looking for that nugget for years!

Now if I could only find out why they call a part one name in the service manual another in the parts manual and yet a completely different one again in the training manual.

Here is another potentially helpful document about reading serial numbers.
