Original Jam 007 is an inverter sensor jam. The inverter sensor is not identified as such in the service manual. It is located in the original feed table assembly. It is the reflection sensor that is pointed down. The sensor could be dirty or bad. The harness could be bad or not fully connected.

Sensors 3 and 18 on the second image both look into gaps on the reverse roller cover. One of those gaps has a felt patch in it that is a magnet for paper dust and spoofs the ADF into thinking there is paper there. Give the assembly a blast out with air.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

        Hit it.

Item D in the first image. Also item 18 in the second image, it is shown as a interrupter sensor but is actually a photo reflection sensor. It is positioned just after the inverter roller. 3 and 8 in the second image are before the inverter gate. You could also have an inverter gate that is sticking.

Remove the platen cover, then the transport assembly. The sensor patch is on the assembly. very common.
