    MP 201 - SC 120

I have an MP 201 that works perfectly except for when i go to copy a document on the glass and i use the R/E feature it gives me a SC120 code...if i just copy on the glass normal no problem...its only when i use the reduce/enlarge. Any ideas?

I faced the same problem (SC-120) in MP 2000. Cleaning the home position sensor and lubricating the scanner rail resolved the problem.

Alright I did all that and I am still getting that code. I lubricated the rails and even replaced the home position sensor, nothing. It seems that when i do r/e the scanner is coming back to far and i can hear the scanner carriage unit hit the machine and i also measured the black piece that the home position sensor detects and when i do r/e it comes out about a 16th of an inch further.

How can i keep it from doing that?

Wow figured it out...I should have known sooner with it only doing it on reduce.

The metal frame was bent at the top so it prevented the scanner from going past it...it would hit it and then code. Thanks for the help!
