Ricoh Aficio MP 5002 , does not fuse properly, even on just regular 20lb paper, rollers look fine, dont see any problems with pressure, no error codes, card stock even worse and it is set for thick paper, new to this machine so any input would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Ricoh MP 5002 not fusing
The maintenance cycle for the drum, developer, transfer, and fuser on this model is 160K. If none of this has been done so far I would start with that.
There might be an issue with the fuser pressure arms not engaging, though I've not seen that before on this model.Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Re: Ricoh MP 5002 not fusing
The PM on the Developer is actually 320k however we usually replace it along with the rest of the pcu items as it never seems to really go that long. I will say i have seen most of the fusers run well over 500k upwards to the 700k-800k range before failure, usually wrinkles or something from pressure roller. I would take the cover off the fuser and inspect the pressure levers and springs see if you can apply them and rotate all the gears with force, make sure the drive gear on fuser and machine side are connecting and arent destroyed. Most heating errors would throw an SC but you could check all your lamps with a voltmeter for continuity make sure one isnt blown out. If you have good pressure, bulbs are working and gears are in good shape, make sure the door is closing the pressure levers and they aren't off track, should be some hook like plastic on the doors that catch those levers and close them.
If all else fails check your PM if your over 160k (which is the actual yield on the fuser pm items) on anything just do the pm, or swap out with a known good fuser and see if the problem persists. I have more issues with the PCU/Dev in those models then I do fuser issues.Comment
