Mpc 4503 buttons not responding once in java app

Hi all.

I have an mpc4503 which has a biometric app installed. I have also a 5503 with the same app installed which works fine. The problem with the 4503 is that once the app has loaded, the other keys like home, user tools etc just beep when you press them. This means that only the app can be used and no other functions.

The only way to get the home key and other functions to work is when the mc is booting up and you press the home key for example. ( before java app has loaded).

I am going there tomorrow to see if sp settings differ from the working machine. Other than that does anyone have any suggestions to try??

Could be that the biometric app is doing its job, and the location is infested with pirates or vikings or something.
All joking aside, depending on the actual metric that biometric app is based on, it really could be doing its job and maybe the user has a cut on the fingertip they registered for a finger print reader (or maybe their hands are just dirty, causing the valleys in their fingerprint to be filled which would give a false read, or maybe they have a wicked hangover or a cold and their eyes are watery enough that the retinal scanner can't get a good read). Or maybe the sensor that detects whatever that app needs is dirty or broken.

Thanks for your in depth reply. The biometrics was reading fine. When pressing home key (physical button) it just beeped. In the end I spoke to the 3rd party app supplier and they set that mc up with different settings. Two of the settings were lock display and lock application. They disabled that and now all sorted.
